MISTFOLD 霧疊
Mist that folds. Ridges that fold.
MISTFOLD 霧疊 is the New Zealand matcha brand of FG NZ Trade & Logistics Ltd.
The name
Mist is the growing condition. Fold is what the mountain does, and what the mist does — ridge behind ridge, layer over layer, until depth reads as colour.
In Chinese the name is 霧疊: mist, stacked. The device mark is an open gold ring with a mist ridge inside it — a bowl rim, and a window looking out at the tea mountains, depending on how you hold it.
Why high mountain, why mist
Altitude slows the tea down. A wide swing between day and night temperature slows it further. Standing cloud does what a shade cloth does in a lowland garden, except it does it every day for most of the year and does not come off on schedule.
Slow growth is the whole argument. It is what produces a leaf that is layered rather than flat, delicately sweet rather than merely grassy, and complex in a way that survives being whisked into milk.
Where it grows
Our leaf is grown and stone-milled in the high-mountain tea districts of Guizhou, in southwest China — a region whose plateau, altitude and near-permanent cloud cover give the growing conditions above. The mountain is the story; Guizhou is the address.
Processing runs under an internationally audited food-safety system, with pesticide and heavy-metal testing to European and New Zealand limits. Documentation travels with every consignment.
The company behind it
MISTFOLD is owned and brought to market by FG NZ Trade & Logistics Ltd, a New Zealand importer and distributor based in Hobsonville, Auckland, New Zealand. We are an MPI registered food importer (FIMP013439), and we hold the New Zealand side end to end: import, clearance, storage, and delivery to your door.
That matters for a wholesale buyer in one specific way. You are not buying from an agent who is themselves waiting on an overseas shipper. The stock, the compliance file and the person who answers your email are all in New Zealand.
